Artist statement
My work flows from the imaginative, the religious, and the classically historical. It is from these three key ideas, I feel, that most of my work finds its source. Concentrating these ideas into mediums and styles is easier said than done, but my mind and materials always manage to find a way.
In terms of style, I’d say that that my work is mainly a mix of neoclassical and post-Impressionism. I can color in the lines, but prefer to paint beyond them. It is in the same way that though I believe that these styles somewhat embody my work, my work is not defined by them.
As you browse through my work, you will also find a journey of improvement and trust that has been the result of trial and error, as well as much practice. Whether it be painting or ceramics, I am constantly experimenting.
I believe—no, know that my gift comes from God, and it is my highest aim to honor him with my work, expressing His love and creative fervor to all that draw near to myself and my craft.
